Description
A quick and flavorful Chicken Marsala recipe that combines tender chicken with a rich Marsala wine and mushroom sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 3/4 cup Marsala wine
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Dredge them in flour and shake off the excess.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook until both sides are golden brown, about 5 minutes per side. Remove the chicken and set it aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and sauté until they start to brown.
- Pour in the Marsala wine and chicken broth. Scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and simmer for about 10-15 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through.
- Stir in the butter until melted and the sauce thickens a bit. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
Pat the chicken dry before seasoning for a good sear. Use fresh mushrooms for better flavor.
