Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3 cups apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for filling)
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (for streusel)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (for streusel)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, salt, and baking powder.
- Add the softened butter to the dry ingredients and mix until you get a crumbly texture. Press about 2/3 of this mixture into the bottom of your greased pan.
- In another bowl, toss the apple slices with lemon juice, granulated sugar, and cinnamon until they are well-coated. Spread the apple mixture evenly over the crust.
- In the same bowl you used for the apples, combine the oats, brown sugar, and melted butter to make the streusel. Mix until crumbly and sprinkle it over the apples.
- Bake in your preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the bars are golden brown.
- Once done, let the bars cool before cutting them into squares.
