A delightful blend of warm spices, tender bread, and juicy apples, this Apple Pie Bread Pudding offers a comforting twist on classic flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups cubed day-old bread (such as brioche or challah)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups peeled and diced apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Place the cubed bread in a large mixing bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and cream until well combined.

  5. Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes and stir gently. Let sit for about 10 minutes.
  6. Fold in the diced apples and raisins (if using).
  7. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish, pressing down gently.
  8. Mix the brown sugar and melted butter, and drizzle over the top.
