Instructions
- Prepare the Yeast Mixture: In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until foamy.
- Make the Dough: In another bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and vegetable oil, kneading until smooth. Cover with a cloth and let rise for about an hour.
- Cook the Filling: Sauté the onion in a skillet until golden, then add ground beef and season with salt and pepper. Cook until browned.
- Preheat the Oven: Set to 375°F (190°C).
- Shape the Piroshki: Roll out the dough and cut into circles. Fill with meat mixture, fold over, and seal the edges.
- Apply Egg Wash (Optional): Brush with beaten egg for a shiny finish.
- Bake: Place on a baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve: Enjoy warm with sour cream or tea.
