Description

A comforting pie filled with savory ground beef, crispy bacon, and melted cheese, capturing the essence of a classic cheeseburger.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
  • 1/2 pound cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 deep-dish pie crust
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, draining off excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Stir in the ketchup, mustard, salt, pepper, and half of the crumbled bacon, cooking for an additional 2 minutes.
  5. Place the unbaked pie crust in a deep-dish pie pan and spoon the beef mixture evenly into the crust.
  6. Sprinkle both cheddar and mozzarella cheeses on top of the beef mixture.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and flour until smooth, then pour over the pie filling.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the center is set and the crust is golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly, then sprinkle the remaining crumbled bacon over the top and serve warm.

Notes

Let the pie cool slightly before serving to help the filling firm up. Customize cheese to your liking and experiment with additional ingredients for flavor.
