Description

A delightful dessert that captures the classic banana split flavors in a warm and comforting cake with soft bananas, vibrant pineapple, and a crispy topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 can crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (e.g., walnuts or pecans)
  • Optional: chocolate syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, layer the sliced bananas and crushed pineapple evenly.
  3. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the fruit evenly.
  4. Drizzle the melted butter over the top of the cake mix.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  6. Let it cool for a few minutes.
  7. Serve warm or at room temperature topped with whipped cream, sliced strawberries, and chopped nuts. Drizzle with chocolate syrup if desired.

Notes

Use very ripe bananas for optimal sweetness. Substitute butter with oil for a lighter flavor if desired.
