Description
A comforting dish featuring tender beef tips simmered in a rich, savory gravy, perfect for serving over mashed potatoes or rice.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb beef tips (sirloin or chuck)
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp cold water
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the beef tips with salt and pepper. Sear the beef tips in the hot skillet until browned on all sides for about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside. In the same pan, sauté the sliced onions until translucent, about 4 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic to the onions and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer. Cook for 5 minutes to combine flavors before stirring in the cornstarch slurry to thicken the gravy.
- Return the seared beef tips back to the pan and allow everything to simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes, until the beef is heated through and coated with gravy.
Notes
