Description
Classic brownies with a rich flavor and fudgy texture, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup (1 stick / 115g) unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup (100g) dark brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup (4 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips or chocolate chunks (optional)
Instructions
- Start by melting the butter. Place it in a large bowl and heat it in your microwave or on a double boiler until completely melted.
- Add the brown sugar and granulated sugar right in while the butter is still warm. Whisk until everything is well combined.
- Next, add the room temperature eggs and vanilla extract. Whisk again until everything is fully incorporated.
- Add the dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda. Gently fold until no dry bits remain.
- Pour your batter into a prepared baking dish greased or lined with parchment paper. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Check for doneness by inserting a skewer; it should come out clean with a few wet crumbs.
- Allow the brownies to cool for about 10 to 15 minutes in the dish, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve.
Notes
Use room temperature eggs for better mixing. Don’t overmix the batter to avoid toughness.
