Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a baking pan.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until fully combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let cool. Dust with powdered sugar before serving if desired.
Notes
Sift flour and cocoa powder for a lighter cake. Use room temperature ingredients for better blending. Avoid over-mixing the batter.
