Description

A delicious and simple dish of tender pulled chicken with rich barbecue flavor, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 1/4 cups Barbecue sauce (e.g., Sweet Baby Ray’s Honey BBQ)
  • 1/2 cup Italian dressing (fat-free recommended)
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup Light brown sugar (can reduce to 1/8 cup or omit)
  • 1 tbsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp Onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Spray the inside of your crockpot with non-stick spray.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  3. Mix the barbecue sauce, Italian dressing, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce in a medium bowl.
  4. Pour the sauce over the seasoned chicken in the crockpot.
  5. Set the cooking time: cover and cook on high for 2.5 to 3 hours or low for 5 to 6 hours.
  6. Shred the chicken directly in the sauce and serve as desired.

Notes

For added flavor, consider searing the chicken before adding it to the crockpot. Chicken thighs can add extra juiciness. To thicken the sauce, remove the lid during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
