Description

Succulent pulled chicken cooked in a crockpot with rich barbecue flavors, perfect for family dinners and meal prep.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 1/4 cup Barbecue sauce (e.g., Sweet Baby Ray’s Honey BBQ)
  • 1/2 cup Italian dressing (fat-free)
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup Light brown sugar (reduce to 1/8 cup to taste)
  • 1 tbsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp Onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Spray the inside of a large crockpot with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder and place them in the crockpot.
  3. Mix together the barbecue sauce, Italian dressing, light brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl.
  4. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken.
  5. Cook on high for 150-180 minutes or on low for 300-360 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  6. Shred the chicken in the crockpot to let it absorb all the delicious flavors. Serve on buns, in tacos, or over a salad.

Notes

For best results, shred the chicken after it has rested for a few minutes and allow it to soak up the sauce for added flavor.
