Description

A cozy dish featuring juicy chicken breasts covered in a creamy, cheesy sauce served over fluffy rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 ½ cups whole milk
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, cook seasoned chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown, then set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, bring chicken broth to a boil, add rice, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until done.
  4. Melt butter in the skillet, whisk in flour to create a roux, then gradually add milk while whisking until smooth. Stir in spices and cheeses until melted.
  5. Return chicken to skillet, spoon sauce over, and warm together for a couple of minutes. Serve hot over rice.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, simmer longer. Rinse rice before cooking for fluffiness. Can use different cheeses based on preference.
