Description

A delightful twist on classic onion rings with sweet, caramelized onions enveloped in gooey cheese, perfect as a snack or side.


Ingredients

  • 3 large Sweet Onions (Vidalia recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano
  • 4 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel and slice the onions into thick rings, about 1 inch thick.
  3. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat and stir in garlic powder and oregano.
  4. Add the onion rings to the skillet and sauté for about 10 minutes until golden but still firm.
  5. Remove from heat, layer the onions in a baking dish, and top with cheeses.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, use fresh garlic. You can also mix different cheeses based on your preference.
