Description
Delightful blueberry cinnamon rolls combine the warmth of cinnamon with the fruity tartness of blueberries, topped with a creamy frosting.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup blueberry jam
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt until well blended. Heat the milk until warm, then add the melted butter and egg. Combine wet and dry ingredients until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle, spread the blueberry jam over it, and sprinkle cinnamon on top. Roll tightly into a log and cut into 12 pieces.
- Place the cut rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- For the frosting, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, blueberries, and vanilla together until smooth.
- Drizzle frosting over warm rolls and serve immediately.
Notes
Kneading helps create fluffiness; ensure proper rising conditions for best results.
