Description

Indulge in this special Blueberry French Toast Bake featuring golden, buttery bread soaked in a creamy custard studded with vibrant blueberries.


Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of French bread
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups blueberries
  • Powdered sugar for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cut the French bread into cubes and place half of it in the prepared dish.
  3. Beat the cream cheese until smooth. Then add the eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon. Mix until well combined.
  4. Pour the mixture over the bread, ensuring all pieces are coated. Top with the remaining bread and sprinkle the blueberries on top.
  5. Cover with foil and let it sit for at least 30 minutes or refrigerate overnight.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes covered. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  7. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar if desired.
