Instructions
- Boil pasta and broccoli: Bring a large pot of salted water to boil, add elbow macaroni, and cook for 6 minutes. Add broccoli florets for the last 2-3 minutes, then drain.
- Make the roux: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and whisk in flour to form a roux, cooking until golden (1-2 minutes).
- Add milk: Gradually whisk in milk until the mixture thickens slightly. Reduce heat to prevent burning.
- Cheesy mix: Stir in cheddar cheese, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until melted and smooth.
- Combine: Mix drained pasta and broccoli into the cheese sauce and stir well to coat.
