- 1/2 cup salted butter (softened at room temperature)
- 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla bean paste or pure vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon almond extract
- 2–3 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Make Brown Butter: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 1 cup of salted butter until it begins to foam and turns golden brown.
- Make Cookie Dough: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and baking soda. In another bowl, combine cooled browned butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes.
Notes
Ensure butter is not burnt while browning. Chill dough for the best texture.
