Description

A hearty yet refreshing dish of tender chicken, creamy butter sauce, zesty lemon, and al dente bowtie pasta with vibrant broccoli.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • Juice and zest of 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
  • 12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup reserved pasta water
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (plus extra for topping)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook bowtie pasta until al dente, adding broccoli florets in the last 3 minutes of cooking.
  2. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  3. Season chicken pieces with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat; cook chicken for about 6–7 minutes until golden brown. Remove from skillet.
  5. Melt butter in the same skillet and sauté minced garlic for 1–2 minutes.
  6. Add red pepper flakes (if using), Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and zest; mix in parsley and chives.
  7. Return pasta, broccoli, and chicken to skillet; toss everything with reserved pasta water and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Serve warm, topped with extra Parmesan and fresh herbs.

Notes

Cook the pasta al dente and reserve extra pasta water for a creamy sauce. Customize seasoning to your preference.
