Description

A comforting bowl of buttered noodles that blends creamy butter with tender noodles for a soothing and satisfying dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz spaghetti or egg noodles
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
  2. Drain and reserve: Drain the pasta, saving about 1/2 cup of the starchy cooking water.
  3. Melt butter: In the same pot, lower the heat and add unsalted butter. Let it melt slowly, stirring gently and sprinkling in salt and pepper.
  4. Combine: Return the drained pasta to the pot and toss until well-coated in the buttery sauce.
  5. Adjust consistency: Add reserved pasta water gradually if the noodles seem dry to achieve a creamy texture.
  6. Serve: Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving hot.

Notes

Choose room temperature butter for even melting. Do not rinse the pasta to keep starch for the sauce.
