Description
A comforting bowl of buttered noodles that blends creamy butter with tender noodles for a soothing and satisfying dish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz spaghetti or egg noodles
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
- Drain and reserve: Drain the pasta, saving about 1/2 cup of the starchy cooking water.
- Melt butter: In the same pot, lower the heat and add unsalted butter. Let it melt slowly, stirring gently and sprinkling in salt and pepper.
- Combine: Return the drained pasta to the pot and toss until well-coated in the buttery sauce.
- Adjust consistency: Add reserved pasta water gradually if the noodles seem dry to achieve a creamy texture.
- Serve: Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving hot.
Notes
Choose room temperature butter for even melting. Do not rinse the pasta to keep starch for the sauce.
