Description

A delicious twist on the classic Alfredo sauce with bold Cajun spices, perfect for pasta, seafood, or chicken.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 ½ cup heavy cream
  • 2 Tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1¾ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 lemon (zest only)
  • 3 Tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 1 Tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 Tablespoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over low heat until it froths with white bubbles, ensuring it doesn’t burn.
  2. Stir in the heavy cream and Cajun seasoning. If your seasoning blend doesn’t contain salt, add the kosher salt and allow the mixture to simmer for about 5-6 minutes.
  3. Remove the pan from heat, add the lemon zest, and gradually stir in the parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is smooth. Adjust salt if necessary.
  4. Toss your cooked pasta in the sauce or serve separately. Enjoy!

Notes

For a vegan version, use coconut cream and nutritional yeast. You can adjust spice levels to preferences.
