Description
A delicious twist on the classic Alfredo sauce with bold Cajun spices, perfect for pasta, seafood, or chicken.
Ingredients
Scale
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 1 ½ cup heavy cream
- 2 Tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1¾ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
- 1 lemon (zest only)
- 3 Tablespoons smoked paprika
- 1 Tablespoon onion powder
- 1 Tablespoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon ground white pepper
- 1 teaspoon ground mustard
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ½ teaspoon dried basil
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over low heat until it froths with white bubbles, ensuring it doesn’t burn.
- Stir in the heavy cream and Cajun seasoning. If your seasoning blend doesn’t contain salt, add the kosher salt and allow the mixture to simmer for about 5-6 minutes.
- Remove the pan from heat, add the lemon zest, and gradually stir in the parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is smooth. Adjust salt if necessary.
- Toss your cooked pasta in the sauce or serve separately. Enjoy!
Notes
For a vegan version, use coconut cream and nutritional yeast. You can adjust spice levels to preferences.
