Description
A hearty and flavorful dish featuring tender steak tips and penne pasta in a rich, creamy Parmesan cheese sauce, enhanced with Cajun spices.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak tips
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt & black pepper, to taste
- 12 oz penne pasta
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tsp Cajun seasoning (for sauce)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain, reserving 1 cup of the cooking water.
- Season the steak tips with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. In a skillet, heat olive oil and sear the steak tips for 3-4 minutes per side until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant. Add the heavy cream, milk, and cream cheese, stirring until smooth.
- Mix in the Parmesan and mozzarella cheeses, along with an additional teaspoon of Cajun seasoning. If the sauce is too thick, add some reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.
- Combine the cooked penne with the sauce, then return the steak tips to the skillet. Mix well and serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
Use freshly grated cheese for better texture and flavor. Feel free to customize with vegetables or different pasta shapes.
