Description
A flavorful dish of tender steak tips and penne pasta in a rich, creamy Parmesan cheese sauce, perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak tips
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt & black pepper, to taste
- 12 oz penne pasta
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tsp Cajun seasoning (to tie the flavor together)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the Penne: Boil the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta cooking water after draining.
- Sear the Steak Tips: Season the steak tips with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear steak for 3-4 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Make the Creamy Sauce: In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté minced garlic for about a minute. Add heavy cream, whole milk, and cream cheese, stirring until smooth.
- Add the Cheeses: Mix in Parmesan and mozzarella cheeses along with an additional teaspoon of Cajun seasoning. Adjust sauce consistency with reserved pasta water as needed.
- Combine and Serve: Toss cooked penne in the creamy sauce, add seared steak tips, and mix well. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.
Notes
Use high-quality fresh cheeses for the best flavor and melt. Searing the steak properly is crucial for tenderness.
