Description

A delightful Caprese Salad combining creamy mozzarella, juicy tomatoes, and fragrant basil, elevated with a homemade balsamic glaze.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces Fresh mozzarella cheese
  • 2 Large tomatoes (preferably heirloom or vine-ripened)
  • 1 cup Fresh basil leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 cup Balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Honey (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice the fresh mozzarella and tomatoes into even slices.
  2. On a serving platter, alternate layers of sliced mozzarella, tomato, and fresh basil leaves.
  3. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. For the balsamic glaze, combine balsamic vinegar and honey in a saucepan over medium heat.
  5. Bring to a simmer and reduce until thickened, about 10-15 minutes.
  6. Drizzle the homemade balsamic glaze over the salad before serving.

Notes

Use ripe tomatoes for the best flavor. Assemble the salad just before serving for freshness.
