Description
Delightful bite-sized snacks combining fresh apples with creamy caramel and crunchy nuts.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large apples, any variety
- 1 cup caramel squares, unwrapped
- 1 tablespoon heavy cream
- 1 cup finely chopped nuts (such as peanuts or pecans)
- Skewers or toothpicks
Instructions
- Wash and dry the apples thoroughly to ensure caramel adheres properly.
- Using a melon baller, scoop out balls of apple from each apple, avoiding the core.
- In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the caramel squares with the heavy cream, stirring continuously until smooth.
- Stick a skewer or toothpick into each apple ball.
- Dip each apple ball into the melted caramel, letting excess drip off, then roll in chopped nuts.
- Place on a parchment-lined tray and let set for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a chewier texture, refrigerate the finished bites for an hour. Choose firm apples like Granny Smith for a nice tartness.
