- 3 cups of diced apples
- 1 cup of caramel sauce
- 1 box of yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/2 cup of chopped nuts (optional)
- 1 cup of chopped candy (optional)
Instructions
- In a crockpot, layer the diced apples at the bottom.
- Pour caramel sauce evenly over the apples.
- Sprinkle the yellow cake mix over the caramel and apples, spreading it evenly.
- Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix.
- Sprinkle cinnamon on top and add chopped nuts or candy if desired.
- Cover and cook in the crockpot on low for 2 to 3 hours, until the cake is set and the apples are tender.
- Serve warm, optionally with ice cream.
Notes
For an extra layer of flavor, use a mix of different apple varieties. You can switch things up by using different flavors of cake mix, like spice or carrot cake.
