- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 4 pieces boneless chicken thighs
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cups cooked white rice
- Chopped green onions, for garnish
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- Mix the soy sauce, dark soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, and rice vinegar in a bowl. Set chicken thighs aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken thighs and sear for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Reduce heat to medium, add minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in chicken broth, soy mixture, and sesame oil, stirring to combine.
- Cover and let the chicken simmer in the broth for 15-20 minutes until tender.
- Serve by placing cooked rice in bowls, topping with chicken and ladling broth over. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
