Description

A unique pizza that combines the sweetness of caramelized pears, the saltiness of prosciutto, and the richness of blue cheese, all on a crispy whole wheat crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 whole wheat pizza crust
  • 2 ripe pears, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup fontina cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup blue cheese, crumbled
  • 4 slices prosciutto
  • 1 shallot, thinly sliced
  • Balsamic glaze for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven according to the pizza crust package instructions.
  2. In a pan, melt the butter over medium heat and add the sliced pears, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook until the pears are caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Spread the caramelized pears evenly over the pizza crust.
  4. Sprinkle the fontina and blue cheese over the top.
  5. Add the slices of prosciutto and shallots.
  6. Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  7. Drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving.

Notes

Choose ripe pears for the best caramelization. Serve immediately for optimal crispness.
