Description

Crispy potato wedges loaded with melted cheddar cheese and crunchy bacon for a comforting snack experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large baking potatoes
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Slice each potato in half lengthwise, then cut each half into three equal wedges.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large pot to 350°F, and fry potato wedges in batches until golden and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per batch.
  4. Drain excess oil on a paper towel-lined tray.
  5. Arrange the fried wedges on a baking sheet and season with kosher salt and black pepper.
  6. Sprinkle shredded Cheddar cheese and half of the crumbled bacon on top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, until cheese is melted.
  8. Top with remaining bacon and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
  9. Let cool slightly, then serve hot.

Notes

For a healthier option, bake the wedges instead of frying them. Substitute dairy cheese with vegan cheese and bacon with tempeh bacon for a plant-based version.
