- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup rice
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened and fragrant.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until nicely browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Season with salt and pepper.
- Stir in the rice and pour in the beef broth, bringing the mixture to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 10 minutes or until rice is tender.
- Add broccoli florets on top, cover again, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
- Serve warm.
Notes
Opt for lean ground beef to minimize grease. For broccoli, add it earlier for a softer texture if preferred.
