Description
A rich and creamy pasta dish featuring bowtie pasta, savory Cajun ground beef, and a luscious garlic cream sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 ounces bowtie pasta
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1½ cups heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the bowtie pasta and cook until al dente (10-12 minutes), reserving ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
- Brown the Beef: In a medium skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and break it apart as it cooks. Sprinkle Cajun seasoning over the beef and cook until no longer pink. Transfer to a plate.
- Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, melt butter, then add minced garlic and sauté for 30-60 seconds until fragrant. Be careful not to overcook the garlic.
- Make It Creamy: Stir in heavy cream and simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened. Add cheddar and Parmesan cheeses, stirring until melted. Season with salt and black pepper.
- Combine: Return the cooked ground beef to the skillet. Add drained pasta and toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water if the sauce is too thick.
- Finish and Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve warm.
Notes
Don’t overcook the pasta and consider adding sautéed vegetables for a nutritional boost.
