Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef and onions over medium heat until the meat is fully cooked; drain excess fat.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer half of the potatoes, followed by half of the ground beef mixture, and half of the cheese. Repeat the layers.
  5. Pour the soup mixture evenly over the top.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly.
  8. Let it sit for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Choose Russet potatoes for best texture. You can experiment with different cheese varieties for unique flavors.
