Description
A delightful dish that combines hearty pasta with lean ground turkey in a creamy cheese sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 12 ounces pasta (your choice)
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat a splash of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until soft and fragrant.
- Add the ground turkey to the pot. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until browned and cooked through, breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, chicken broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let this simmer for a few minutes to meld the flavors.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then add the pasta directly into the pot. Stir well to combine.
- Reduce the heat and let it simmer, uncovered, until the pasta is cooked al dente and most of the liquid is absorbed, about 10-15 minutes.
- Once the pasta is ready, stir in the shredded cheese until it melts and creates a rich, creamy texture.
- Serve warm and enjoy your delicious creation!
