Description
Classic cheesy pepperoni pizza with bold flavor, bubbly cheese, and crispy crust. Perfect for any pizza night or weekend dinner at home.
Ingredients
2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
¾ cup warm water (100–110°F)
1 tsp sugar
2 cups bread flour
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp olive oil
1 cup pizza sauce (homemade or store-bought)
1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
20 slices pepperoni
1 tsp dried oregano (optional)
½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
1. In a bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix and knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
3. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–1.5 hours until doubled in size.
4. Preheat your oven to 500°F (260°C) with a pizza stone or steel inside, if available.
5. Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface into a 12-inch circle.
6. Transfer the dough to a parchment-lined pizza peel or baking tray.
7. Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border.
8. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese generously over the sauce.
9. Top with pepperoni slices and optional seasonings.
10. Bake for 10–12 minutes until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden.
11. Remove from oven, cool for 3–5 minutes, slice, and serve hot.
Notes
You can substitute part-skim mozzarella with a blend of provolone or cheddar for a richer flavor.
Try a hot honey drizzle or add jalapeños for a spicy twist.
Reheat leftovers in a skillet or toaster oven for a crispy finish.
