Description

Delightful chewy oatmeal cookies combining oats and sugars for a comforting treat.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp honey (or molasses)
  • 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and honey until fully incorporated.
  4. Combine the flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, then fold in the quick oats and old-fashioned oats.
  6. Form dough balls about 1 to 1.5 tablespoons in size and place on lined cookie sheets.
  7. Bake for about 10-13 minutes until the tops are set.
  8. Cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Butter should be softened. Use the spoon and level method for measuring flour.
