Description
A creamy and satisfying dish that combines chicken, crispy bacon, and zesty ranch flavors, perfect for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- 6 strips bacon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 small boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 2 cups uncooked pasta (Rotini recommended)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 2 cups half and half
- 2 tablespoons dry ranch dressing seasoning mix
Instructions
- In a large skillet over low heat, cook the bacon until crisp. Set aside, reserving the drippings in the skillet. Chop the bacon into pieces after it cools.
- Slice the chicken breasts into thinner strips, season with salt, pepper, onion powder, and Italian seasoning, then sear in the skillet until golden brown and fully cooked. Allow the chicken to rest before cubing.
- In a pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta until al dente (7-10 minutes), then drain without rinsing.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter, sauté the garlic, then add flour to create a roux. Gradually whisk in half and half, ranch seasoning, and cheese until smooth.
- Combine the cooked pasta, chicken, and bacon in the skillet, tossing everything together until well mixed.
Notes
Serve warm. This dish can be customized with veggies and gluten-free pasta options. For best results, allow chicken to rest after cooking.
