- 1 lb chicken breast, cubed
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 2 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato puree
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, cumin, coriander, paprika, garam masala, turmeric, garlic, and ginger. Add chicken and mix well. Marinate for at least 1 hour.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions until golden brown.
- Add marinated chicken to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until chicken is cooked through.
- Stir in tomato puree and let simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Gradually stir in heavy cream and season with salt, cooking for another 5 minutes over low heat.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan.
Notes
For enhanced flavor, marinate chicken overnight. Substitute heavy cream with coconut milk for a lighter version.
