- 100 grams granulated sugar
- 100 grams almond flour
- 100 grams powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1/3 cup peanut butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Make the Meringue: Whisk egg whites and granulated sugar in a double boiler until warm, then beat until stiff peaks form.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: Sift almond flour, cocoa powder, and powdered sugar together and fold into meringue until smooth.
- Pipe Macaron Shells: Transfer batter to a piping bag and pipe small circles on baking sheets, then tap to release air bubbles.
- Bake: Bake for about 13 minutes until shells develop a firm outer shell.
- Prepare Filling: Whip softened butter and peanut butter until creamy, then add powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt until fluffy.
- Assemble: Cool macaron shells completely, then pipe peanut butter filling and sandwich with remaining halves.
Notes
Ensure egg whites are at room temperature for best results. Macarons are sensitive to humidity, so bake on dry days.
