Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring continuously until it comes to a boil.
- Pour the butter mixture over the saltine crackers, spreading evenly.
- Bake for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let them sit for a few minutes to melt, then spread the chocolate into an even layer.
- Add nuts, crushed candy canes, or a sprinkle of sea salt as desired.
- Cool completely, then break into pieces and serve.
