- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 cup granulated sugar (200g)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk (240ml)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ½ cup red and green sprinkles (jimmies style)
- 1 tablespoon coarse sugar
- Additional sprinkles for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, whisking well after each. Stir in vanilla extract and buttermilk.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
- Fold in the red and green sprinkles gently.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle the top with coarse sugar and extra sprinkles.
- Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 to 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
