Description

Vibrant and fresh shrimp tacos topped with a creamy slaw, perfect for casual dinners or festive events.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Wild-caught shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Lime zest (from 1 lime)
  • 2 tablespoons Lime juice (from that same lime)
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • ½ bunch Cilantro, finely chopped
  • 3 cups Green cabbage, finely shredded
  • ½ cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons Lime juice (from 1 whole lime)
  • 1 Avocado, sliced
  • 8 (6-inch) Corn or flour tortillas
  • Lime wedges for serving, as needed

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and chili powder together. Toss the shrimp with this seasoning mixture until they are well-coated.
  2. Heat the olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and cooked through.
  3. Remove the shrimp from heat, then stir in lime zest, lime juice, and honey. Toss to coat the shrimp in the tangy sauce.
  4. In a large bowl, mix the shredded cabbage with chopped cilantro.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine Greek yogurt, lime juice, and a pinch of salt. Stir until smooth.
  6. Pour the dressing over the cabbage and cilantro and mix to combine.
  7. Heat the tortillas in a skillet for about a minute on each side until warm.
  8. On each tortilla, place shrimp, a scoop of creamy slaw, and top with sliced avocado. Serve with lime wedges.

Notes

Use fresh lime and cilantro for the best flavor. Avoid overcooking the shrimp to maintain their texture.
