Description

Delightful shrimp tacos with zesty lime and cilantro flavors, paired with a creamy slaw for a fresh and crunchy experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb wild-caught shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest (from 1 lime)
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice (from that same lime)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ½ bunch cilantro, finely chopped
  • 3 cups green cabbage, finely shredded
  • ½ cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice (from 1 whole lime)
  • Avocado, sliced to taste
  • 8 (6-inch) tortillas (corn or flour)
  • Lime wedges, for serving as needed

Instructions

  1. Combine the shrimp with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, chili powder, olive oil, lime zest, lime juice, and honey in a mixing bowl. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
  2. Heat the butter in a skillet over medium-high heat, add the marinated shrimp.
  3. Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped cilantro.
  4. Mix the shredded cabbage, Greek yogurt, lime juice, and a pinch of salt in a large bowl until coated.
  5. Warm the tortillas in a skillet or over an open flame for a few seconds on each side.
  6. Assemble the tacos by placing a few shrimp on each tortilla, adding a scoop of creamy slaw on top.
  7. Top with avocado slices and serve with lime wedges.

Notes

For more flavor, marinate the shrimp for longer if time allows. Adjust seasoning in the slaw to personal taste.
