- 1 lb wild-caught shrimp, peeled and deveined
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon lime zest (from 1 lime)
- 2 tablespoons lime juice (from that same lime)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- ½ bunch cilantro, finely chopped
- 3 cups green cabbage, finely shredded
- ½ cup Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lime juice (from 1 whole lime)
- Avocado, sliced to taste
- 8 (6-inch) tortillas (corn or flour)
- Lime wedges, for serving as needed
Instructions
- Combine the shrimp with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, chili powder, olive oil, lime zest, lime juice, and honey in a mixing bowl. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
- Heat the butter in a skillet over medium-high heat, add the marinated shrimp.
- Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped cilantro.
- Mix the shredded cabbage, Greek yogurt, lime juice, and a pinch of salt in a large bowl until coated.
- Warm the tortillas in a skillet or over an open flame for a few seconds on each side.
- Assemble the tacos by placing a few shrimp on each tortilla, adding a scoop of creamy slaw on top.
- Top with avocado slices and serve with lime wedges.
Notes
For more flavor, marinate the shrimp for longer if time allows. Adjust seasoning in the slaw to personal taste.
