Description

Cinnamon Sugar Muffins are a delightful treat that combines the warm scent of cinnamon with a fluffy texture, topped with a crunchy sugar exterior. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a cozy snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup additional sugar for topping
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a muffin tin.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, egg, milk, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the additional sugar and cinnamon for the topping.
  7. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the tops of the muffins.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the muffins to cool slightly before removing them from the tin.

Notes

Using room temperature eggs and milk can help create a more uniform batter. Don’t overmix to prevent dense muffins.
