Description
A hearty and comforting baked spaghetti dish with layers of pasta, marinara sauce, and melted cheese.

- 16 ounces Spaghetti noodles
- 3 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
- 3/4 cup Grated parmesan cheese
- 2 Large eggs
- 5 tablespoons Melted unsalted butter
- 1 pound Italian turkey sausage
- 36 ounces Marinara sauce
- 1/4 cup Tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1 medium Chopped onion
- 1 tablespoon Minced garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon Chopped fresh basil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the spaghetti noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Heat a bit of oil in a large skillet and sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until soft.
- Add the Italian turkey sausage to the skillet and cook until browned.
- Stir in the marinara sauce and tomato paste, mixing well. Let it simmer for a few minutes, adding Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper for extra flavor.
- Combine in a large bowl the drained spaghetti, melted butter, eggs, half of the mozzarella, and half of the parmesan cheese. Mix until well combined.
- Layer half of the spaghetti mixture in a large baking dish, followed by all of the sauce, and finish with the remaining spaghetti. Top with the remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheeses.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped fresh basil.
Notes
Use fresh ingredients for better flavor. Allow the dish to rest after baking for easier serving.
