Description

A hearty and comforting baked spaghetti dish with layers of pasta, marinara sauce, and melted cheese.


Ingredients

  • 16 ounces Spaghetti noodles
  • 3 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3/4 cup Grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 5 tablespoons Melted unsalted butter
  • 1 pound Italian turkey sausage
  • 36 ounces Marinara sauce
  • 1/4 cup Tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 medium Chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon Minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Chopped fresh basil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the spaghetti noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Heat a bit of oil in a large skillet and sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until soft.
  4. Add the Italian turkey sausage to the skillet and cook until browned.
  5. Stir in the marinara sauce and tomato paste, mixing well. Let it simmer for a few minutes, adding Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper for extra flavor.
  6. Combine in a large bowl the drained spaghetti, melted butter, eggs, half of the mozzarella, and half of the parmesan cheese. Mix until well combined.
  7. Layer half of the spaghetti mixture in a large baking dish, followed by all of the sauce, and finish with the remaining spaghetti. Top with the remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheeses.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and golden brown.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped fresh basil.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for better flavor. Allow the dish to rest after baking for easier serving.
