Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently. Roll out to about 1-inch thickness and cut into biscuits.
- Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet, either close together or spaced out.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Serve warm with maple syrup.
Notes
For best results, use cold butter and avoid overmixing. These biscuits can be made ahead and frozen for convenience.
