Description

A timeless Italian dish featuring layers of noodles, rich meat, smooth cheese, and zesty marinara sauce.


Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions; drain.
  3. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, then drain the excess fat.
  4. In a bowl, mix the ricotta cheese, egg, garlic powder, basil, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  5. Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Layer 3 lasagna noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, half of the ground beef, and a third of the mozzarella cheese.
  7. Repeat the layers, finishing with noodles, the remaining marinara sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese on top.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 25 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, let the lasagna rest before slicing to keep layers intact.
