Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup Long-Grain White Rice
- 1 can French Onion Soup
- 1 cup Beef Broth (or vegetable broth)
- 1 cup Chopped Onions (optional)
- 4 tbsp Butter
Instructions
- Rinse the rice under cold water in a fine mesh strainer.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the rinsed rice to the onions, stirring to coat the rice with butter and onions.
- Pour in the French Onion Soup and beef broth, stirring well. Bring to a gentle boil.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for about 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
- Remove from heat, add remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, and stir until melted. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding minced garlic while sautéing the onions. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days.
