Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 slices bacon
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes, then transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
- Crumble the bacon once cooled. Rub chicken breasts with olive oil and season with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Heat the skillet over medium-high heat and sear the chicken for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Reduce heat to medium, pour BBQ sauce over the chicken, sprinkle cheddar cheese, and sprinkle crumbled bacon on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until chicken is fully cooked and cheese is bubbly.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and red pepper flakes, let rest before serving.
Notes
Use an oven-safe skillet for easier cooking, and let chicken rest after baking for juicy results.
