- 2 cups fresh cranberries
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until just combined.
- Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan to form a crust.
- Toss the fresh cranberries with powdered sugar and spread the mixture evenly over the crust.
- Mix the remaining butter, flour, sugar, and almond extract to create a crumbly topping and stir in the sliced almonds.
- Sprinkle the almond topping generously over the cranberries.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until the top is golden brown and the cranberries are bubbling.
- Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
