- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted and warm
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon water
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ cup chocolate chips
- 8 oz block cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg white
- ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8×8 inch square baking pan with foil or parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix the granulated sugar with the warm melted butter; let sit for 5 minutes. Then whisk in the eggs, water, and vanilla extract.
- Mix in cocoa powder, flour, and kosher salt, folding gently until combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
- In a separate bowl, blend cream cheese until smooth and mix in sugar, flour, egg white, and vanilla until combined.
- Scoop out one third of the brownie batter and set aside. Spread the rest in the prepared pan, alternating dollops of the cream cheese and reserved brownie batter on top. Swirl with a knife.
- Bake for 32-37 minutes until mostly set; cool completely before lifting out to slice.
Notes
For best results, do not overmix the cream cheese and monitor baking closely to avoid drying out.
