Description
A delightful dish that marries comfort and flavor with creamy sauce, tender penne pasta, and juicy ground beef.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tsp olive oil for sautéing
Instructions
- Cook the penne according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve about a cup of pasta water.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Sauté diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant, about 5 minutes.
- Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, cooking until browned, around 7 minutes.
- Lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream, stirring into the beef. Gradually mix in reserved pasta water until the desired sauce consistency is reached. Incorporate grated Parmesan until melted.
- Add cooked penne to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce.
- Serve warm, optionally garnished with more Parmesan or fresh parsley.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute half the heavy cream with milk. Add vegetables like spinach or bell peppers for extra flavor and nutrition.
